Parnassus in trouble?
2 Comments There is a murmur afoot that Heath Ledger’s final movie, THE IMAGINARIUM OF DR PARNASSUS may have trouble finding US distribution. The film also stars Colin Farrell, Johnny Depp and Jude Law, who stepped in to complete the role that Ledger had started.
During the summer there were several interested parties, reportedly including Lionsgate, but since, things have died down. You can read the full lowdown HERE, but the gist is the usual bullshit of ‘too experimental’ and ‘not marketable enough’ and that kind of garbage. Obviously, the most important thing to remember at this obviously difficult time (especially with that emotional speech from Ledger’s family at the Oscars) is that UK distribution is already secure, so, living over here in London, I’m ok.
Extra Tidbit: Depp, Farrell and Law donated their earnings for this movie to Ledger’s daughter Matilda.

Johnny Depp to narrate ‘The Doors’documentary
4 Comments Hollywood actor Johnny Depp is all set to narrate an upcoming documentary about the famous band The Doors. The renowned band, which made waves in the 1960’s with songs like ‘Riders on the Stor’ and ‘Light My Fire’, are still loved for their classic songs. However, the band had a tragic end, as its vocalist Jim Morrison died of a drug overdose, after which the band eventually split in 1973.
The Charlie and The Chocolate Factory actor will be narrating Tom DicCillo’s flick, which has been titled ‘When You’re Strange’, reports the Screen Daily. Although, the flick premiered at the Sundance Film Festival with a narration track by DiCillo, Depp has been signed up to narrate an updated version.
“Johnny saw the film early on, we showed him an early cut and he responded very strongly to the subject matter,” Contactmusic quoted producer Peter Jankowski, as saying. Meanwhile, ‘The Doors’ have sold around 80 million albums worldwide.

Johnny Depp Joins The Three Stooges?
1 Comment Johnny Depp could be starring in the upcoming film adaptation of The Three Stooges, reports In Touch.
The 45-year-old actor could soon be poking Sean Penn in the eye in the Farrelly brothers’ forthcoming comedy.
“They want Johnny to play Moe and Sean Penn will be Larry — they’re still looking to cast Curly,” an insider says.
The Farrelly brothers will work on the Stooges movie after filming Walter the Farting Dog with the Jonas Brothers this spring.
Johnny may have to get a Moe bowl haircut!
