Okay, I would never normally post and ask for donations but this is an emergency. Mycah, fellow Famke-Janssen.org, Rose-McGowan.com and Glamour Reese Witherspoon webmistress, is in a horrible situation right now. Her house burned down earlier this week and she really needs our help. If you enjoy her work on her sites and can spare anything at all, please consider donating. She is okay but her family lost their home and all possessions and they have no place to stay. You can read about the incident here. If you can help at all, Mycah’s PayPal address is email@example.com. I’m sure that any donations will be more than appreciated.

After a live conversation with Johnny Depp, AFI Fest 2005 will host the world premiere of the Depp-starring The Libertine.
By Mark Umbach
The AFI Fest 2005 has selected Oscar-nominated actor Johnny Depp as this year’s Tributee. The Fest’s Tribute to Johnny Depp will take place on November 11 at the ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood. Following the tribute, the Fest will host the world premiere screening of the latest Depp effort, The Libertine, co-starring John Malkovich and Samantha Morton and marking the feature directing debut of Laurence Dunmore.
“Our challenge each year in choosing a tributee is to find someone who is a highly accomplished artist about whom we crave to know more,” said Christian Gaines, Director of AFI Fest. “Johnny Depp is such an artist. He has made interesting, risky choices in his career and has evolved into one of the most absorbing actors of our time.”
Depp will make a rare public appearance during the Fest in a live conversation with film critic and author Richard Shickel. As part of the Tribute, the Fest will screen a montage of Depp’s career with an in-depth look at various clips from throughout his career. In addition, the Fest will screen a retrospective of four Depp films during the course of the Festival, including Dead Man, Edward Scissorhands, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and What’s Eating Gilbert Grape?.
“Johnny is a brilliant and truly unique actor, whose remarkable career has been defined by its diversity and veracity. The originality of both the characters he has portrayed, and the films he has made, further emphasize his integrity and passion,” noted Libertine helmer Dunmore. “I am delighted Johnny is being honored by AFI Fest.”
Over the course of his career, Depp built a cult following with films such as Cry Baby and Edward Scissorhands. He went on to become a respected dramatic and comedic actor starring in films such as Ed Wood, Donnie Brasco, Chocolat and Blow, among others. More recently, his turns in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl and Finding Neverland earned him Academy Award nominations. Those films also earned him Golden Globe nods, as did Ed Wood, Benny & Joon and Edward Scissorhands.
Empire Online caught up with British actor Bill Nighy, who stars as planet builder Slartibartfast in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, and asked about his upcoming slate.
Nighy said that his character Davy Jones will very much be the villain of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest and possibly Pirates of the Caribbean 3.
“I am a very, very, very, very bad man and I am there to make people suffer in all new ways, in ways that you won’t have seen before,” he smiled. While staying mum on how that will be done, he did reveal that “I have a boat and I have a crew, and they are really evil buggers.”
He added that his character will have quite a bit of help from the effects wizards at Industrial Light & Magic (ILM). “I’m so computer generated that you might have trouble spotting me. You’ll know it’s me, but you might have to check the credits afterwards,” he laughed.

Mariana has sent scans of the next Premiere magazine:
As you guys might know already, Johnny didn’t win the Golden Globe last sunday. Oh well. I still think he is the best and I know most of you do the same and that has got to count for something right?
I will post pictures tomorrow!
Johnny made it to NUMBER ONE on the IMDb’s Starmeter’s TOP 25. Congratulations.
“1. Johnny Depp — The now-respectable Hollywood bad boy nabbed a surprise Oscar nomination for Pirates of the Caribbean, opened the lackluster Stephen King thriller Secret Window all on his own, and got Oscar prognosticators buzzing again with Finding Neverland. And did we mention he’s playing Willy Wonka in Tim Burton’s upcoming Charlie and the Chocolate Factory?”
