The first official teaser trailer for Johnny’s upcoming action-comedy crime film, ‘Mortdecai’ has been released by Lionsgate a few days ago, and it looks really fun! A poster for the film, three production stills as well as captures from the trailer have all been added to the gallery. Be sure to check them out! And if you have not already, visit the official site of the film.
Juggling some angry Russians, the British Mi5, his impossibly leggy wife and an international terrorist, debonair art dealer and part time rogue Charlie Mortdecai (Depp) must traverse the globe armed only with his good looks and special charm in a race to recover a stolen painting rumored to contain the code to a lost bank account filled with Nazi gold.
Also starring Gwyneth Paltrow, Ewan McGregor, Olivia Munn, Jeff Goldblum and Paul Bettany, Mortdecai is released in cinemas February 6th 2015.
Whoever happened to be walking by an East End street on Wednesday may have been shocked to see the 50-year-old actor bouncing off the hood of a vintage Rolls Royce after the car sped down a cobblestone street and apparently struck him.
The dramatic sight was all staged—as he was filming a scene for his new action-comedy, Mortdecai.
No word whether Depp received any bumps or bruises from the stunt, but he certainly looked good performing it.
The Lone Ranger star has transformed himself once again for his latest role—this time dying his hair blond and donning a rather Dali-esque mustache to play the film’s titular debonair art dealer, Charlie Mortdecai. He was dressed elegantly in a three-piece suit, pink shirt with a white collar and a blue tie along with a long black winter coat.
So this is why Johnny Depp has gone blond! We got our first good look at Johnny in his new film, Mortdecai, which is currently filming in London. The new photo shows Johnny walking with Paul Bettany, whom Johnny had previously starred alongside in “The Tourist“.
The film follows an art dealer, Charlie Mortdecai, as he hunts for a stolen painting that is said to hold a secret code that can lead to a Nazi gold stash. The film is based on the popular Mortdecai Trilogy, which was written by Kyril Bonfiglioli. Johnny’s new project also stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Ewan McGregor, and Olivia Munn.
Lionsgate and OddLot Entertainment have formed a multiyear, multipicture co-financing and distribution deal beginning with OddLot’s co-financing of the action comedy “Mortdecai,” starring Johnny Depp.
The companies said the deal gives them a framework for Lionsgate and OddLot to co-produce and co-finance additional pictures that may be sourced by either party. It also provides OddLot with distribution on certain pictures.
“Mortdecai” will star Johnny, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ewan McGregor, Paul Bettany and Olivia Munn. Production begins this fall with David Koepp directing. It’s based on the three-part series of books by Kyril Bonfiglioli and produced by Andrew Lazar, Johnny and Christi Dembrowski.
Johnny is portraying Charles Mortdecai, an antihero art dealer and part-time rogue who is in a race to recover a stolen painting rumored to contain the code to a lost bank account filled with Nazi loot.
“The Newsroom” actress soon could be added to the cast of the adaptation of Kyril Bonfigloi’s anti-hero art dealer novels. I’ve learned Olivia Munn is in negotiations to join Johnny Depp, Gwyneth Paltrow and Ewan McGregor in the David Koepp-directed “Mortdecai“. Details are sketchy about Olivia’s potential role in the Lionsgate thriller, but it’s doubtful that she’ll be playing the Jock Strapp character, Mortdecai’s long-suffering manservant in the books. Eric Aronson wrote the script for the film from Bonfigloi’s 1970s work with Johnny playing the roguish Charlie Mordecai.
