Sweeney Todd star Johnny Depp is on the new cover of Rolling Stone, talking about tackling the notoriously difficult Stephen Sondheim score for his new film, and how music has always been a part of his life.

I was walking about in Blockbuster VDO just looking for something to zone out to when what before my wandering eye did appear but Johnny Depp in plain sight on a magazine rack! I nearly fainted. I made some wierd Veloci-raptor sound and twirled in indecisiveness! Should I get a new release movie or buy the magazine? What to do what to do? He was right there! So, in a fever of wild emotion and greed, I raced to the mag rack and snatched up my copy of Rolling Stone. I opted for an old movie in lieu of my new purchase decision and went smiling up to the salesperson to check out. The salesman took one look at me and then at the magazine and understood immediately.
