“Dark Shadows” is a ’60s soap opera about vampires. All things supernatural really, but vampires are a big focus thanks to Jonathan Frid’s character Barnabas Collins. In an interview with MTV’s Josh Horowitz, director Tim Burton — who will soon turn to “Dark Shadows” with frequent collaborator Johnny Depp as its star — said that it’s too early to say if fans can expect a cameo from Frid in the adaptation.

Besides, Burton has bigger “Shadows” concerns than that. “One of the biggest challenges on [‘Dark Shadows’] is to just capture that weird tone of the show,” he said. For now, the focus is on Burton’s unfinished “Alice in Wonderland,” which hits theaters in March 2010. As the director reveals in the video below, he hasn’t even seen the Caterpillar yet! “Dark Shadows” will come, in due time. But first, we all need to take a trip down the rabbit hole.

Aug 29, 2009 did a funny article about Twilight, if it was made in 80’s. They was guessing who actor will fit in every character and guess what? Johnny was casted as… Jacob Black:

Other casted characters were River Phoenix as Edward, Ally Sheedy as Bella, Molly Ringwald as Alice, Kiefer Sutherland as Emmett, Matt Dillon as Jasper and Elisabeth Shue as Rosalie.

The Big Issue Ed #336

Actor Johnny Depp has pulled off a difficult double act: maintaining popularity and credibility. Rochelle Siemienowicz reflects on Depp’s eclectic career, while the man himself talks about his latest roles as bank-robber John Dillinger in Public Enemies and Alice in Wonderland’s Mad Hatter. Source

As you can see, Deppis cover of Australian The Big Issue. And I’ve added some new scans to our gallery:

Story by Chelsea ‘Dee’ Doyle
The problem with an actor like Johnny Depp is finding movies in his history that aren’t fantastic. Then you have to consider the movies that aren’t that good, but that he was great in anyway (which covers basically everything else).

The truth is, this Kentucky-born actor is one of the best in his or anyone’s generation, and he also is an accomplished producer, director, screenwriter, and yes, even has quite a set of singing pipes. Good thing he’s just so unattractive or he might just be the perfect Hollywood hunk … oh wait. He’s gorgeous. Damn you, Johnny Depp!

Here’s a look at some of the best and worst of Johnny Depp movies just in time for his newest flick Public Enemies, hitting the theaters July 1!

Also, I did a new layout to our gallery, since the previous one was up for so long. I used a picture of the recent Vanity Fair shoot, I hope you like it.

I love the idea of changing my look. I think one owes it to the audience, to go out there and give them something different each time, so as not to bore them to death. And I always felt that if you're not trying something different each time out of the gate, you're being safe, and you don't ever want to find that place of safety. I like that, each time, before I even go in front of the cameras, the studio's reaction will be fear. They have those hideous pangs of fear where they go, "He's fucking killing the movie." And I can't argue with them, because I might be. But I just know for the character that this is the right thing to do. And I've always enjoyed hiding behind these characters. It's a strange thing, you're more comfortable as a character than you are in life. You know what I mean? I could stand up in front of, it doesn't matter how many people, as a character. But if I had to do it as myself and give a speech, I would be liquid.
