In his new Vanity Fair cover story (not online yet, sadly), Johnny Depp and writer Douglas Brinkley visit Little Hall’s Pond Cay, Depp’s private, 45-acre Bahamian island, just a short yacht ride off the coast of Nassau.
According to Brinkley, every night on the trip, he, Depp, and their three accompanying friends sat around in Depp’s docked yacht watching YouTube videos. Here are the videos mentioned in the story:
This one is George Whitman, owner of Paris’s Shakespeare and Co. bookstore, lighting his hair on fire to impress two women:
Hollywood actor Johnny Depp has made a touching tribute to the late Heath Ledger, by naming a beautiful snorkelling spot on his private tropical island after the Perth-born star.
Depp, along with actors Jude Law and Colin Farrell stepped in to help finish Ledger’s last film, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, after Ledger died before finishing the film. The three donated their earnings from the movie which has been deemed kooky and crazy by critics to Ledger’s daughter Matilda.
In the July issue of Vanity Fair, Depp reveals he has named a snorkelling cove on the 45 acre Caribbean island called Little Hall’s Pond Cay, Heath’s Place.
Other beaches on the island are named after the Pirates of the Caribbean star’s partner Vanessa Paradis, his children and his mentors Marlon Brando and Hunter S. Thompson.
The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus premiered at the recent Cannes festival.
Johnny is cover of Vanity Fair current issue. The notoriously private actor invited Vanity Fair along on a sailing trip to his Caribbean isle. “You’ve got all-access,” Johnny Depp declared, “Ask me about anything you want.” Photograph by François-Marie Banier.

1. Public Enemies
Johnny Depp. Michael Mann. Christian Bale. The question is why you’re still here reading this instead of booking tickets for Public Enemies, the Mann film that casts Depp as legendary 1930s gangster John Dillinger and Bale as Melvin Purvis, the FBI agent assigned to track him down. We talked to the filmmakers (including Oscar-winner Marion Cotillard) to get the full story on the film’s history – which goes back to a script Mann wrote in the 1970s) and see what we can expect from this latest Mann opus. Also, Kim Newman lays out the 20 Greatest Gangster Movies You’ve Probably Never Seen.

Caps will be added as soon I find it in HQ quality.
Johnny Depp and Christian Bale. If those two names alone don’t get you running to the theater, then consider the following: This biopic of bank robber John Dillinger (Depp) was directed by Heat’s Michael Mann and co-stars Oscar-winner Marion Cotillard (La Vie en Rose). Missing it would be a crime.
Added scans of April 24 issue of EW in the gallery:
Also, there’s new pictures of “The Rum Diary” set in the gallery. Check the albums below:
