Welcome to JDW, one of the largest and oldest fansites dedicated to academy award nominated actor Johnny Depp. Johnny Depp is, for sure, one of the lead name in the world's movie industry, recognized for his talent and charisma. Working as an actor since the 80's, he has a dedicated and passionated fanbase around the world. We're here to celebrate Johnny's life and career, and give fans a place to find the latest news regarding Johnny, as so media, images and more.
First of all, I would like to inform that our gallery has a new layout. I was DYING to make something with that amazing Esquire pictures, and so I did. I hope you like it.
Well, I live in Brazil and here Sweeney Todd will open only in February 08! I couldn’t wait until there, so I got a copy from the movie in a ‘good’ quality last night, and made some caps from the whole movie. There’s 1468 captures, and I know it’s too much but the movie is amazing and some scenes I really couldn’t stop capping! If you haven’t see it yet, please, go and watch it. Johnny did a wonderful job, as so Helena as Miss Lovett.
Johnny Depp will replace Heath Ledger in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, the latest project Heath had been working on. Director Terry Gilliman hand picked Johnny for the role.
But this doesn’t mean we won’t see Heath at all. The studio is saying there’s a part of the movie in which Heath’s character falls through a magic mirror, and they may have Johnny become the new appearance of the changed character.
It’s sad that they already have to be dealing with this so soon after Heath’s death, but it’s great that such an amazing actor as Johnny Depp will be on board.

Best Actor nominee JOHNNY DEPP reacted to his nod. “My sincere thanks to the Academy for this kind nomination,” he said. “It is both an honor and a privilege to be aligned amongst such ability. My endless gratitude also to TIM BURTON and the entire cast and crew of ‘Sweeney Todd,’ without whom, I would not be here today.”
A break into our Johnny world to a very sad news. The actor Heath Ledger was found dead in his apartment today. The Australian-born actor was 28.
Ledger’s respectable filmography includes roles in films such as Candy, Monster’s Ball, 10 Things I Hate About You, Lords of Dogtown, I’m Not There, and Brokeback Mountain, for which he earned a Golden Globe- as well as an Academy Award nomination in 2006. His last onscreen appearance looks to be the role of Joker in the much anticipated Batman Begins sequel, The Dark Knight, pending a July 2008 U.S. release.
My deepest condolences to his family, loved ones and loyal fans. It’s a tremendous loss, I’m really shocked. RIP, Heath…
As you can see, there’s a new layout up. With the new layout, there’s a lot of updates as the new career section, and the info section totally updated!
I’m still fixing some broken images, but you can browse around to see all changes. I’ll be finishing the career section (I’ll need to finish the 90′s and 00′s movies info) and do a new gallery layout, but I’m proud to say that this site is now updated.
Enjoy, and don’t forget to tell me what do you think about.
Johnny got another nomination from Academy Awards, for his Sweeney Todd!
He will dispute with: Daniel Day Lewis, George Clooney, Tommy Lee Jones and Viggo Mortensen.
Congratulations, and go Johnny!
Johnny Depp received his third Academy Award nomination for best actor for his role as the title character in Tim Burton’s gothic musical “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street,” though no nods went to the film, its director or co-star Helena Bonham-Carter.
The nominees for the 80th Academy Awards were announced Tuesday from Beverly Hills, California, with Johnny Depp seeing his portrayal of the psychotic criminal whom he managed to make endearing to the audiences receive a nomination in the best actor category.
Depp, previously nominated for “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl” in 2004 and “Finding Neverland” in 2005, will compete against George Clooney in “Michael Clayton,” Daniel Day-Lewis in “There Will Be Blood,” Tommy Lee Jones in “In the Valley of Elah” and Viggo Mortensen in “Eastern Promises.”
While “Sweeney Todd” was not nominated in the best picture category, the trophy will be fought over between “Michael Clayton,” “There Will Be Blood,” “Atonement,” “Juno” and “No Country for Old Men.”
The organizers of the Academy Awards ceremony have been adamant that the event will take place regardless of the ongoing WGA strike, on the scheduled date of Feb. 24 at Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre.
As I told you before, I’m working in a total revamp to this site, including a complete filmography section. For this reason, I’m uploading pictures from some movies, specially the older ones.
Today, I have added screencaptures from Private Resort, Slow Burn, Platoon and Lady Blue, but you can expect a little more this weekend.
I have added a new quotes page, because I found an awesome script from Martina (the same girl who did the affiliates one). And because of this, I’ll need your help.
With this script, you can add quotes, too. So, if you’re a related-Johnny quotes collector, please, help me! You can add quotes from Johnny himself, from his characters or from someone on Johnny.
Go to the add form. Select a category into the drop down menu. Insert the quote into the appropriate form, and the ‘who said it’, too. As you can see, you can insert your name, your email and your website. Just please check if the quote isn’t already listed.
Golden Globe winner Johnny Depp attended the Paris premiere of SWEENEY TODD: THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET last night, January 16th, and signed autographs for fans waiting outside the theater. I added 38 pictures from Johnny and Tim.
Also I had forgot to add the pictures from Tokyo press conference, so added 50 new ones.
Note: I’m working in a total revamp of this site, with a complete update of all pages. This site is SO outdate, some pages was last updated in 2004, some pages never was updated since this site open doors. You can expect a BIG surprise when I finish it.
