Even as he anticipated the sunset of his filmmaking career recently, Quentin Tarantino is looking ahead to who he’d like to work with, and Johnny Depp tops the list. The Django Unchained director said he’d like Johnny to star in a future pic, but will only cement plans once he’s written the perfect part for the Pirates of the Caribbean actor.
Tarantino told talk show host Charlie Rose that it would be “magical” to work with the 49 year-old actor, adding: “We would love to work together. We’ve talked about it for years. Not that we get together and talk about it for years, but from time to time.”
The two appear to have mutually high esteem for the other, according to Tarantino. But the key is finding the right moment.
“We’re obviously fans of each other,” he said according to Contactmusic.com. “I just need to write the right character that I think Johnny would be the right guy to do it with. And if he agrees, then we’ll do it, and then it’ll be magical.” Continuing, Tarantino shared that he hasn’t as of yet, “written the perfect character for Johnny Depp as of yet. Maybe someday I will, maybe someday I won’t. We’ll see.”

The jokes can get pretty random on Family Guy, but this week there will be some high-powered star wattage powering one such gag: Johnny Depp. The film star makes his debut on the animated comedy by voicing one of his most memorable and sharpest characters from the big screen, Edward Scissorhands.
In the episode, which airs Sunday at 9 p.m. on Fox, Lois goes through a mid-life crisis and starts acting like someone half her age. As Chris, Meg, Stewie, and Brian wonder what’s wrong with her, Depp appears in a cutaway gag playing the titular character from Edward Scissorhands… as a night nurse. What will happen when Johnny reprises this iconic role for nearly 20 seconds? Press play and hold your babies tight.

The supermodel reveals her broken heart, deep insecurities and lack of professional guidance in a revealing new profile.
Supermodel Kate Moss opens up to Vanity Fair about her insecurities, her modeling career and her love affair with Johnny Depp. During their romance (1994-1998), Moss says she finally felt taken care of.
“There’s nobody that’s ever really been able to take care of me,” she says. “Johnny did for a bit. I believed what he said. Like if I said, ‘What do I do?,’ he’d tell me. And that’s what I missed when I left. I really lost that gauge of somebody I could trust. Nightmare. Years and years of crying. Oh, the tears! ”
Depp and Moss were the It Couple and Moss was far more famous than the actor in those years. Together they attended several Cannes Film Festivals and his Donnie Brasco and Don Juan De Marco premieres. They even walked the red carpet at the 1995 Golden Globe Awards.
Depp used to go backstage when she did fashion runway shows in New York, London and Paris. Asked by this reporter why he was backstage at a Calvin Klein show in those years, Depp smiled and said, “To be with my girl.”
The couple also made tabloid headlines. Most notably when, in the wee hours of morning on Sept. 13, 1994, police were called to New York’s Mark Hotel, where they found Depp and Moss sitting in their trashed, $1,200-per-night presidential suite. Depp blamed the mess on an armadillo he said was hiding in his closet but the creature was never found. The couple was billed $9,767 for the damages, according to People.
A female US academic who claims she was assaulted by Johnny Depp’s security guards while he was present can sue the US star for punitive damages, a judge ruled Monday.
Robin Eckert, a medical professor at University of California (UC) Irvine, claims Johnny and his guards became aggressive with her at a concert in Los Angeles last December. The academic had bought tickets for the VIP area at the show by Iggy and the Stooges. During a break between acts she left the area, and the confrontation occurred when she tried to return. At one point she was dragged across the floor, Eckert claims.
“This case arises from a highly painful and embarrassing attack, which occurred without cause or justification on my part,” she said in a statement to court.
“Depp witnessed the attack, however, despite being his security guards’ direct manager, did nothing to stop the attack,” she added.
Johnny’s lawyer Andrew Brettler denied that the star was actively involved.
“They can’t prove anything except that he stood there passively,” he said, adding that only two of four security guards involved in the incident were protecting Johnny.
Eckert, a 53-year-old mother of two, is suing the star and three security firms: Premier Group International, Damian Executive Production Inc. and Staff Pro Inc. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Johnson rejected a motion by Depp and the security firms to limit Eckert’s legal action to seeking compensation, but not punitive damages.
“I think the allegations here are sufficient; whether they can be proved or not or whether they are exaggerated is a different matter,” he said.
Johnny Depp could be adding yet another project to his already full plate. Alcon Entertainment says Johnny’s in negotations to star in “Transcendence” for first-time feature film director Wally Pfister. Pfister’s an Oscar-winning cinematographer who shot The Dark Knight Rises, Inception, Moneyball, and The Italian Job, among other huge films.
Jack Paglen wrote the screenplay, with filming expected to begin early next year. Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas are producing the project which is set up for distribution by Warner Bros Pictures.
According to THR, the film is supposed about a “man who creates a computer that develops a malevolent awareness.”
Alcon Entertainment’s co-founders and co-CEOs Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove announced Depp’s potential involvement in the film: “Johnny Depp is one of the most charismatic, talented actors imaginable and we are delighted he is with us on this project.”
Pfister added, “I’m thrilled, and feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Johnny. He is a creative and intelligent artist whom I feel will bring great depth to the character and the overall narrative.”
