Okay, I would never normally post and ask for donations but this is an emergency. Mycah, fellow Famke-Janssen.org, Rose-McGowan.com and Glamour Reese Witherspoon webmistress, is in a horrible situation right now. Her house burned down earlier this week and she really needs our help. If you enjoy her work on her sites and can spare anything at all, please consider donating. She is okay but her family lost their home and all possessions and they have no place to stay. You can read about the incident here. If you can help at all, Mycah’s PayPal address is firstname.lastname@example.org. I’m sure that any donations will be more than appreciated.
In 2000, celebrity photographer Henny Garfunkel began taking Polaroids of her famous subjects at film festivals around the world. Since then, Garfunkel has collected signed snaps of some of Hollywood’s biggest stars. The photographer’s work is currently on display at the Walter Reade Theater’s Frieda and Roy Furman Gallery as part of the New York Film Festival.
“I know Johnny because I shot the still photography on the John Waters movie Cry Baby in 1989,” says Garfunkel, who caught Depp in this slightly askew pose at the 2005 Toronto Film Festival. “He’s very fun and very spontaneous. He’s up for anything.”
The Film Society of Lincoln Center will show clips from the upcoming film version of Sweeney Todd as part of An Evening with Tim Burton, to be held at 8pm on Wednesday, November 14 at the Rose Theater at Jazz at Lincoln Center.
This special event will include a conversation with the director and a screening of clips from his various films. Sweeney Todd, which Burton has adapted from the Stephen Sondheim-Hugh Wheeler musical, will open officially on December 21 with a cast led by Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, and Alan Rickman.
Tickets are $40-$60. For information, visit www.FilmLinc.com.
I was travelling this weekend and today, when I came back home, saw that a new Sweeney Todd trailer was released!
“He never forgot. He never forgave!”
Added to our gallery a scan from Ukranian Viva magazine. Check it:
Garth Franklin of DarkHorizons.com reports the up-coming Tim Burton movie-musical adaptation of Sweeney Todd will receive an MPAA R-rating due to the amount of violence and gore in the film.
“Word was that Sweeney Todd, Tim Burton’s film version of the Stephen Sondheim musical about a barber who slashes throats and his cohort who bakes their remains into pies, had a lot of violence and gore. So, talk began that it was to be cut down to a PG-13 by executives hoping to cash in on Johnny Depp’s bankability with the teen crowd,” states the website, “The good news is the cuts aren’t being made, the MPAA has passed the film with an R-rating for ‘graphic bloody violence’ which sounds like Burton’s vision is remaining intact.”
While riskier parts of Burton’s film may remain intact, speculators say this may also make it more difficult for underage musical theatre- and Depp-fans alike to buy tickets.
WOW! WOW! Double Wow!
Is all I can say after watching the Sweeney Todd trailer. Definitelly, it’s one of the most great characters Johnny will play. And his London accent? Damn, come soon, Christmas!
Also, added 136 caps from this movie into the gallery. Enjoy!
Vintage Videos give us a video from Johnny in a “The Lemonehads” song (It’s a Shame About Ray), as a weirdo loner.
I didn’t knew this video. You can watch it here:
So Feminine – The American magazine GQ has published a list of the 50 best dressed men over the past 50 years.
It is no surprise that many Hollywood actors are at the top of the list of the best dressed men. There are also politicians and singers on this list of men with style.
Among the best dressed actors, we can find George Clooney and Johnny Depp, as well as actors that marked another era such as, Marcello Mastroianni, Steve McQueen, Paul Newman and Marlon Brando.
The musicians with style include Beck, Bob Dylan and David Bowie.
Naturally, John F. Kennedy had a spot as one of the best dressed politicians.
As you can see, there’s a new layout up. I’m still fixing some things so, please if you see any error, press f5 or contact me (by email or here, by comments).
I’m in love with this kind of layout. And this picture is beautiful, don’t you think?
This layout is to celebrate our 4 years online (done in last August 27). It’s been such a long time, huh?
Also, I would like to tell to everybody who’s leaving comments to Mr. Depp: He’ll not read your comments, unfortunally. We don’t have any affiiation with him, so don’t expect any contact.
Don’t forget to leave your opinions about the new look.
