Some forty odd years ago a soap opera began its run, which would eventually take it to 1245 episodes by the time it went off the air in 1971. But this was no garden variety soap opera. This was “Dark Shadows”.
According to trade magazine Variety, via Filmstalker, Johnny Depp’s production company Infinitum-Nihil, GK Films, and Warner Bros. have signed a deal with the estate of the late Dan Curtis, and secured the rights to develop a feature film based on the show. Depp and Graham King will produce with David Kennedy, who ran Dan Curtis Prods. until Curtis’ death. There’s no word on who would direct, and indeed no word on whether Mr Depp would take on the signature role of Barnabas Collins himself. But it would seem the obvious choice, especially considering his personal attachment to the character:
Depp has said in interviews that he has always been obsessed with “Dark Shadows” and had, as a child, wanted to be Barnabas Collins, the vampire patriarch of the series.
Hi guys, quick update with articles from everywhere
Okay, okay, I know you were waiting for this pictures all day. [*updated with new pictures]

Rock & roll “father and son” Keith Richards and Johnny Depp are Rolling Stone’s newest cover boys in their latest issue. A hilarious Q&A with the “blood brothers” is expected to go live tomorrow.
The Rolling Stones guitarist was so impressed with Depp’s acting skills on the latest POTC movie, the actor now calls him “Two-Take Richards.” Depp has said, “The anticipation was mad. Everyone was like, ‘Is he going to do it? Is he going to do it?’ And then whammo, he arrived at eight o’clock in the morning, totally prepped and ready to go. Obviously, Keith Richards – the guy invented charisma. But what I didn’t expect was he was going to be such a great actor. I started calling him ‘Two-Take Richards’. It was like this gunslinger arrived in town, charmed all the women and impressed all the men, and then split.”
Richards plays Depp’s pirate character’s father in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, out May 25.
Hollywood actor Johnny Depp says that he wouldn’t mind essaying his character in the adventure series ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ for a seventh time.
Forty-three-year-old Depp, who plays the role of Jack Sparrow in the hit series, said Sparrow’s character has a lot to explore.
“I’ll never get bored of Captain Jack, he is so much fun. If they wanted to do ‘Pirates 7′, why not? There are new layers to Jack and situations that he can’t just talk his way out of, so it would be good to keep exploring the character,” Tittle-tattle quoted Depp, as saying.
However, Depp doesn’t enjoy the process of fixing gold teeth on, for he finds the entire process very rough.
“They’re bonded on to my own choppers! They make the surface of my teeth kind of rough, then use hot glue and laser the false teeth on,” he said.
“The process of taking them off can be quite ugly. Sometimes they just shoot off and other times you have to address the issue more intensely, with yanking,” he added.
Johnny Depp hates showing his two children his films, because he is always nervous they won’t like them.
The actor – who has two children, Lily-Rose and Jack, with long-term partner Vanessa Paradis – doesn’t care what critics think of his movies but always values his family’s opinion.
He said: “They saw ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’, which made me very nervous. I was scared they’d come home and say, ‘Hey dad, better luck next time!’ But they came home quoting it, which is nice.”
Johnny insists there are a number of his movies that he won’t show to his kids until they are older, because he doesn’t want to give them nightmares.
The actor – who has starred in a number of strange adults-only films, including ‘The Ninth Gate’, ‘Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas’ and ‘Secret Window’ – added: “I only let them watch some of my movies, but some I’m not sure they’re ready for. Hell, I’m not sure I’m ready for them!”
He is currently shooting the Tim Burton directed ‘Sweeney Todd’, in which he plays the murderous London barber of the same name.
I’ve added 4 new POTC 3 movie promos. Great promos, by the way.
Me and Annie really appreciate all donations we receive from you. It’s a must when our visitors can colaborate with the site, because it’s hard for us have ALL Johnny things around (magazine scans, caps, etc).
But I need to tell you something: please, NEVER take something from another site and send it to us as donation. Specially if you are planning to tell if it’s your work. We can’t check EVERY Johnny site if something is took around, but we will know if this happens. And sometimes, from a hard way: the real owner will let us know.
I received a donation of a b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l vector image, and used it in our new gallery layout. Surprise, surprise… the vector was took from another Johnny site, and it was made by katie.y @ hotmail.com. How did I know it? This girl emailed us, to ask why we’re using her vector without appropriate credit.
So, please, if you want to donate us something, feel free to do it. We will be glad and thankfull. But DO NOT take anything from another site, NEVER. Just donate your work: your scans, your caps, your artwork. Thanks.
