Alright, I received many many e-mails from Johnny fans complaining about the critics on Johnny’s latest movie “The Lone Ranger“. Some people say that Johnny’s standing as an A-list actor is in danger.
“The pitiful opening box office for Depp’s latest film is only the latest disappointment for the actor. Is it time to re-evaluate his status as one of Hollywood’s golden gods?” wrote The Daily Beast.
I can’t answer all of your e-mails telling you what I think about it and whether Johnny’s career is in danger. I don’t believe the latter is entitled. Johnny is known as one of the most popular and talented Hollywood actors of all. I also loved his appearance as Tonto in “The Lone Ranger”. That’s why I published this post, to briefly let you know what I think and to let Johnny fans comment about it under this thread. Enjoy it!
He told the BBC in an interview broadcast earlier that he would hope to move on to “quieter things” in the near future.
“I wouldn’t say I’m dropping out any second, but I would say it’s probably not too far away,” said Depp. “When you add up the amount of dialogue that you say per year and you realise that you’ve said written words more than you’ve had a chance to say your own words, you start thinking about that as an insane option for a human being.”
Johnny’s comments on acting echo those of Brad Pitt, who suggested he would quit acting “in three years” during a 2011 TV interview with 60 Minutes. Brad – of a similar age (49) – said he would look to develop his career as a producer.
Johnny has a few more films on his slate before retirement is an option. “Pirates of the Caribbean 5” is due in 2015, while a sequel to “Alice in Wonderland” is rumored to include an appearance by Johnny’s character, The Mad Hatter. The star has also recently signed on to play the title role in Mortdecai, a comic crime thriller about a dashing and unscrupulous art dealer.
I added 71 HQ pictures of Johnny from July 17, when he attended the “The Lone Ranger” premiere in Tokyo, Japan. I also added 100 HQ from the “The Lone Ranger” premiere in Berlin, Germany on July 19. Thanks to Britt for the pictures in high quality.

According to Belfast Telegraph, stars including Johnny Depp and Bruce Willis have offered words of wisdom to new father Prince William.
The 31-year-old royal and his wife Catherine welcomed their first child, a son, into the world yesterday. Johnny has two children with his ex-partner Vanessa Paradis and is confident that William will relish having a family just as much as he does.
“I would say the same thing to any pop, you know,” he told UK TV show Daybreak when asked to give the prince some words of wisdom. “The best thing – the only thing you can do – first of all it’s the greatest thing you will ever experience, without question. It’s the greatest ride ever. The best thing you can do is just love them and be there.”
This morning many people prepared the “The Lone Ranger” premiere in Berlin, Germany. A German reporter uploaded 2 LQ pictures to the German Lone Ranger Facebook page which show Johnny during interviews and on the red carpet. I added those to the photo gallery! More pictures will be added as soon as possible.
There are currently rumors floating around that Johnny might return as our beloved Mad Hatter in an “Alice In Wonderland” sequel. Its official release date is not known yet and there aren’t any co-stars mentioned.
It seems as if the sequel is a sure thing. The original film, which opened in March 2010, cost around $200 million, but managed to earn a worldwide box office take of over $1 billion! But, what will the story be about?
Would you like to see Johnny return as the Mad Hatter in “Alice In Wonderland 2″?
After much deliberation, I decided to put up a brand new layout and design. I really loved the other one, and the ones before, but it was up way too long. So I designed one myself! It is completely different to the previous one, but I like it.
The pictures in the header are from 2010. They were taken by Annie Leibovitz for the January 2011 Vanity Fair issue. I always loved the shoot, so I decided to choose them for the layout.
As some of you may have already noticed, there are serious issues when visiting the theme with Google Chrome. Hopefully I’ll get to fix it soon.
Feel free to let me know what you think of the new design at JDW. Feedback, suggestions etc. can be left in a comment. Thanks!
As you can see, I haven’t updated the website for a while now. I’m going to be back updating it very soon, with a brand new layout and design. Stay tuned! I’m sorry for the inconvenience!
Johnny has reportedly offered two homeless people a chance to feature in his forthcoming sci-fi film “Transcendence” after spotting them in Albuquerque, Mexico. They have been offered short roles.
“Johnny always likes to help out the community when on location. While scouting out the area around Albuquerque, he came across these two characters. He was straight on the phone to the casting director,” femalefirst.co.uk quoted a source as saying.
It is not the first time the actor has helped out people living on the streets. In 2011, he had bought a hat from a homeless person.
His film “Transcendence”, is directed by Wally Pfister. Releasing April 2014, it also includes actors like Morgan Freeman, Cillian Murphy and Rebecca Hall.
Ricky Gervais and Johnny Depp together cover a lot of bases when it comes to appealing qualities.
But Gervais was far more concerned today as to which of them is, simply, more aesthetically pleasing. So he asked his Twitter followers to weigh in!
“Seriously, who’s better looking? RT for Cool Gervais Favourite for Ugly Depp,” the actor and cocreator of The Office tweeted today, along with a picture of himself and Depp that appears to have been taken in 2011, when Depp guest-starred on “Life Is Too Short” and pretended to be super-scorned by Gervais’ cracks about him at the Golden Globes
The results of Gervais’ little experiment?
At press time, Depp is just edging Gervais with 1,157 favorites to 1,077 retweets for the Brit – so it’s no blowout yet!
