This is a short article on Pirates Of The Caribbean 2:

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer hopes to begin filming the sequel to his runaway hit Pirates of the Caribbean this fall.

“Johnny (Depp), Orlando (Bloom) and Keira (Knightley) are all committed to the sequel emotionally but not financially. That’s something we have to start working out,” says Bruckheimer. “All three are busy, expensive stars now. Johnny’s a $20-million man.”

Depp has said he wants Keith Richards to play Depp’s father in the sequel.

“Johnny loves the idea of having Keith in the movie because he used Keith as an inspiration for his performance, but the part isn’t in the script yet. If Johnny insists and Keith agrees, I think it’s safe to say it will be written in.”

  • Rumours say that Pirates of the Caribbean 2 will be named Treasure of the Lost Abyss
  • An interesting article:
Johnny Depp buys his own island
‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ star Johnny Depp has bought his own desert island.
The Oscar-nominated actor already shares homes in France and LA with partner Vanessa Paradis and their two children, 5-year-old Lily Rose and Jack, 2.

The mile long island is called Little Halls Pond Cay and comes with six white sandy beaches, a central lagoon surrounded by palm trees, its own private harbour and staff quarters.

I have no idea of how accurate is the article, since it also says that Johnny is filming POTC 2, which is still in pre-production…

  • Anyway, I’m uploading a lot of pictures and I will make a post once it’s done.

“Before he toplines back-to-back “Pirates of the Caribbean” sequels, Johnny Depp will first pull double duty for Tim BurtonTim Burton and Warner Bros.
Already booked to play Willy Wonka in the Burton-directed “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” Depp has just made a deal to provide the lead voice in “Corpse Bride,” the stop-motion animated film Burton is co-directing with Michael Johnson and producing with Allison Abbate.

Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Emily Watson, Albert Finney, Richard Grant, Joanna Lumley and Christopher Lee will provide character voices for the latter film, being made in London simultaneously with “Charlie.”

WB will release the Wonka pic July 15, 2005, and “Corpse Bride” in October 2005.

Latter film shares the stop-motion animation technique used in the Burton-produced “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” as well as a similarly charming but macabre setting. In a 19th-century European village, Victor (Depp) travels to the underworld for a quickie wedding to a mysterious corpse bride (Bonham Carter) while his living wife (Watson) pines for his return.”

I love the idea of changing my look. I think one owes it to the audience, to go out there and give them something different each time, so as not to bore them to death. And I always felt that if you're not trying something different each time out of the gate, you're being safe, and you don't ever want to find that place of safety. I like that, each time, before I even go in front of the cameras, the studio's reaction will be fear. They have those hideous pangs of fear where they go, "He's fucking killing the movie." And I can't argue with them, because I might be. But I just know for the character that this is the right thing to do. And I've always enjoyed hiding behind these characters. It's a strange thing, you're more comfortable as a character than you are in life. You know what I mean? I could stand up in front of, it doesn't matter how many people, as a character. But if I had to do it as myself and give a speech, I would be liquid.
