Johnny Depp is set to star with love Vanessa Paradis in an upcoming movie.

The Hollywood heartthrob will play a gypsy in the $17 million adaptation of Harry Crew’s book ‘The Gypsy’s Curse’, while the mother of his two children will play a scheming temptress.

The movie, which is due to start filming in August, tells the story of a disabled man who falls under the spell of Paradis’ character and is warned of his fate by Depp.

Only last week, Vanessa hinted she could never make a movie with her longtime partner – because he would make her laugh too much.

The French singer-turned-actress confessed: “Neither of us knows whether it would work. My worry is keeping a straight face in front of him – he makes me laugh all the time. So trying to be serious, to give him a look without having to giggle – honestly, I don’t know if I could do that.”

This other article from antestreia.com (which is in portuguese and thanks Tulipa for pointing it out) also tells that Johnny will be filming in Portugal!

From lotr_news community, taken from Empire Magazine, in the section ‘Your Heard it Here First’:

No sooner had Pirates of The Caribbean made a squillion dollars worldwide than plans were announced for two back-to-back sequels, which feature the return of Orlando, Keira Knightley and, of course, the Oscar-nominated Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow. But since then, little has been heard, so we pumped Jerry Bruckheimer for info. “We have a pretty detailed outline on 2 and a fairly detailed outline for 3, but we’re moving in the right direction,” he whispered. “We should go into production next year.” But can the Deppster bottle lightning again? “Johnny can certainly replicate that performance; he’s really looking forward to it. He’s such an inventive actor he can always embellish his parts.” Oo-er missus! Etc.

There aren’t actually any news about Johnny lately.

Johnny Depp to auction his underwear for charity

Hollywood heartthrob Johnny Depp has found a new way to donate to charity, the “Edward Scissorhands” star is going to auction his briefs and the earnings will go to charity.

He is giving away a pair of black undies, described as a Y-front/boxers cross at an auction, the proceeds from which will be given to Helen House, a home for seriously ill children.

Sam Mendes, Kate Winslet, Pierce Brosnan, Judi Dench and Liam Neeson are some of the other star who will be donating their personal belongings to the charity.

Meanwhile, Bill Nighy, Francesca Annis, Michael Gambon and Jeremy Irons will perform at the Oxford playhouse in order to raise funds.

I love the idea of changing my look. I think one owes it to the audience, to go out there and give them something different each time, so as not to bore them to death. And I always felt that if you're not trying something different each time out of the gate, you're being safe, and you don't ever want to find that place of safety. I like that, each time, before I even go in front of the cameras, the studio's reaction will be fear. They have those hideous pangs of fear where they go, "He's fucking killing the movie." And I can't argue with them, because I might be. But I just know for the character that this is the right thing to do. And I've always enjoyed hiding behind these characters. It's a strange thing, you're more comfortable as a character than you are in life. You know what I mean? I could stand up in front of, it doesn't matter how many people, as a character. But if I had to do it as myself and give a speech, I would be liquid.
