Ricky Gervais and Johnny Depp together cover a lot of bases when it comes to appealing qualities.
But Gervais was far more concerned today as to which of them is, simply, more aesthetically pleasing. So he asked his Twitter followers to weigh in!

“Seriously, who’s better looking? RT for Cool Gervais Favourite for Ugly Depp,” the actor and cocreator of The Office tweeted today, along with a picture of himself and Depp that appears to have been taken in 2011, when Depp guest-starred on “Life Is Too Short” and pretended to be super-scorned by Gervais’ cracks about him at the Golden Globes

The results of Gervais’ little experiment?
At press time, Depp is just edging Gervais with 1,157 favorites to 1,077 retweets for the Brit – so it’s no blowout yet!

What do you guys thing? Leave a comment to let us know!

Is this a joke? Ricky Gervais looks like Rosie O’Donnell. So I ask you, do you think Rosie O’Donnell is as handsome as Johnny? I think not.

    You gotta be KIDDING me.
Johnny Depp looks better the way he looks toDAY than Gervais does.
And Johnny Depp doesn’t have as big an ego. Apparently.
Which makes him look two times better than Gervais regardless of physical appearances, making him 10 TIMES better looking than Gervais.

Now I have to say Johnny has his own style that just makes him spadecial. He may be really weird in some movies of course but that’s just himself, no body else. Now this other guy seems a little old to be liked, but if he was younger then that would be another story. I’m saying I like Johnny better because he’s got that courageous look in his eyes about weird things and that he’s got a lot of spiret in him too. Plus he’s very good looking anyways. So yah, I go with Johnny!!!!

Yes, it is a joke. You do realize Ricky is a comedian, right? So pull those sticks out of your asses and get a sense of humor.

I went there to find it but couldn’t locate the topic. I would have retweeted for Johnny Depp if I could have found it.
I’m an Internet using midget and don’t mind saying so.
Most people who really adore Johnny Depp, I would gather are in their 30’s, 40’s and 50s.
My daughter, who’s in her 20’s thinks he’s “okay, but like the guys of One Direction better.”

  • Jun 26Mickey says:

Johnny Depp is definitely more attractive. He’s a legend.

  • Jul 02Lorraine says:

Seriously ,as much as I think that Ricky is a great writer and actor, there is no way that he could ever compete with Johnny Depp in the looks dept. NO CONTEST….yes Ricky, a comedian you certainly are..

I love the idea of changing my look. I think one owes it to the audience, to go out there and give them something different each time, so as not to bore them to death. And I always felt that if you're not trying something different each time out of the gate, you're being safe, and you don't ever want to find that place of safety. I like that, each time, before I even go in front of the cameras, the studio's reaction will be fear. They have those hideous pangs of fear where they go, "He's fucking killing the movie." And I can't argue with them, because I might be. But I just know for the character that this is the right thing to do. And I've always enjoyed hiding behind these characters. It's a strange thing, you're more comfortable as a character than you are in life. You know what I mean? I could stand up in front of, it doesn't matter how many people, as a character. But if I had to do it as myself and give a speech, I would be liquid.
