There’s an article about Lily Rose on Star magazine, issue from March 26. I wont post the scan here since there’s pictures from Lily and Jack, in respect to Johnny’s desire (he HATES have his child’s pictures exposed in magazines). But here’s the full article:

Johnny Depp’s anguish: his baby girl fights for her life.
The actor spent 10 straight days by his sick daughter’s bedside. Here, all the details, including what really caused her deadly infection.

Dashing Johnny Depp has had his share of heroic roles in the movies, but nothing could prepare the Pirates of the Caribbean star for the life-and-death drama that unfolded over the past few weeks in his real life. For 10 days, the anguished actor and his wife Vanessa Paradis, 34, kept a constant vigil at the hospital bedside of their 7-years-old daughter Lily Rose, as she suffered from a potentially life-threatening kidney infection, according to sources.

Contrary to reports in another magazines, Star has learned that the condition was caused by deadly E.coli. But on March 7, the doctors determined that little Lily-Rose was well enought to finally leave London’s Great Ormond Street Hospital, and her loving father bundled her in his arms, hugging her and kissing her forehead as him carried her into The Dorchester hotel, Where the whole family could be together once again.

Every parent’s nightmare
The life-and-death drama began very innocently, just a few weeks ago. Lily-Rose and her 4-years-old brother, Jack, were playing together hapilly in the $18,000-week Victorian mansion that the family was renting while Johnny filmed the movie Sweeney Todd, at London’s Pinewood Studios (The Tim Burton directed film, co-starred Helena Bonham Carter, is due in theaters later this year). Lily Rose than started feeling ill; her parents immediatelly called a doctor, who diagnosed dehydration and wrote her a prescription.
But Lilly’s condition only worsened, say sources, until all she could do is lie in bed crying. The following day, they called a second doctor, who recommended another medication with vital minerals to treat the dehydration. But according to insiders of the set of Sweeney Todd, the little girl hated the taste and spit it out. On the third day, Lily was even weaker, and the pediatrician finally came to the house, to examine her. It was when she was diagnosed with kidney malfuncion caused by E.coli. An ambulance rushed the little girl to Great Ormond Street Hospital where she was hooked up to dialysis machine and given intravenous antibiotics for 10 days.

A strange illness.
So how could Johnny’s little girl get the E.coli virus, most recently associated in USA with tainted spinach? “It could be different from the E.coli you get when you eat spinach or a hamburger that is infected.” Dr. Steven Feig, who does not treat Lily-Rose, tells Star. “They probably gave her a antibiotic to get the infection down”; Althought the condition is treatable, “Lily-Rose was seriously ill”.

Relief and recovery
During they 10-day vigil, Johnny and Vanessa decided to leave their 15 bedroom mansion and move to the Dorchester suit, which is just a four-minute drive to the hospital. “The mansion had too many frightening memories”, reports another source. “They’d seen their little girl have a terrible brush with dead, and they decided to get out”.
The proximity also made easier to Lily-Rose to continue daily treatments at the hospital, says a insider, who add at the family plains to return to their French home, where she can further recover while begin treater by a private physician.
In the meantime, there has been a outpouring of support from well-wishers across the globe since the story first broke. Even Johnny’s former love, Kate Moss, called his cell phone offering her sympathy and help in any way she could, says a source. “Everyone is very concerned,” echoes a source on Depp’s film set, where production was halted for two weeks. “The fact that the film’s schedule has been adjusted proves that this is no ordinary illness.

Still, after an emotional roller coaster, it appears Johnny and his family are nearing a happy ending. “She seems to be making a good recovery”, confirms a source.

So glad to hear Lily-Rose is doing Well! Poor baby. As A parent who has lost three children, with one being on kidney dialysis herself, I know the pain and suffering one goes through. You so wish it was you and NOT your child! Once again, so glad to hear all is going well!! Hope the Depp family can now relax a bit and breathe easier!

What tragedy they lived because of these wrong first diagnosys. I am very happy that now Lily- Rose is much more fine, and life can re-start to proceed with more lightness in Depp’s family.

My heart goes out to the Depp Family, and I am sincerely grateful that Lily-Rose is recovering. thank God your little girl is out and doing much better. i know what you went through. my little angel (10 yrs.) has been in the hospital twice – very serious – fully recovered now, thank God. i always worry now about her health, but am told that is normal. give your little angel a big hug from me and again, so glad she is recovered. xx00

Johnny, God Bless you for being such a devoted father and risking your public world for your REAL WORLD, which I know are your kids. I’ve heard you say it so many times, I burst into tears outloud today in a rest area where I first saw a picture of Lily-Rose and you, with the dreadful caption underneath it. Thank you for the update on Lily-Rose. I’ve been searching for news on her condition. As a nurse and a mother, I have felt and understand their pains and fears. Do not rely on one doctors opinion. If your instincts warrent it, seek another opinion asap. Cranberry/mix juice is a regular in our house, 4 oz a day to keep the plumbing working. Bless you all and may God protect.

I’m so glad that Lily-Rose is doing better. When i heard the story, i said a prayer and i still do every night and when i heard that Johnny said that he would go back to work until she is total better, i started to respected him even more.

As a nurse I can completely understand the grave nature of Johnny’s and Vanessa’s little girl – she’s only 3 years younger than my own little girl. So glad Johnny and Vanessa used their “parent instincts” and were agressive in getting another diagnosis – this is a miracle, especially for children who can succumb so easily or be disabled for life.

Dear Johnny,

I can’t even describe how happy I am to know that your beautiful Lily-Rose is home again. I thank God every day for this blessing…I know what it’s like to watch someone slip away before your eyes. All you can do is sit there, holding their hand, and pray that they can somehow pull through. You feel so helpless…you wish you could trade places with them, and that if you squeeze their hand tight enough you can take away the pain. You just keep asking why this had to happen and keep telling yourself that this can’t be real…it just isn’t right. But your suffering is over, and I’m so sorry you had to go through that. Ease your mind and your heart. You’re a wonderful father, and I’m unbelievably happy that it worked out for you. Now is a time for family and to be thankful. its great that ur website has attracted so many ppl (myself INCLUDED!!!)
